Floss shopping list
Paste your chart's floss, one per line, with its stitch count: the list gives the skeins for each color and the total, ready to print.
- Every color at once
- DMC, Anchor, Madeira, Sullivans
- Print it or copy it

Where do I find the stitch count?
A pattern's key often gives, for each floss, its symbol, its number and its stitch count. Paste it here: the number at the start of the line is enough, color names and symbols are ignored.
The math is the same as the stixiva editor's shopping list: about 0.53 in (1.35 cm) of 2-strand floss per cross on 14-count Aida, 8.7 yd (8 m) skeins (10.9 yd, 10 m, for Madeira), rounded up to the next skein with the margin you picked.
To go further than this tool: the free cross stitch software stixiva draws, converts and prints your charts, online or on Windows, and its Stitch mode tracks your stitches as you work.
What if I don't know the stitch count?
Leave it blank: the floss counts as one skein. In the editor, each color of your chart has its own stitch count and estimated skeins.
Can I switch brands?
Pick the brand of the numbers you paste. To go from one brand to another, the floss converter also handles a whole list.
Why a margin?
Starting and ending threads, mistakes and the back of the work use more than the crosses alone. Buy all the skeins of one color at once: dye lots can vary.
The shopping list makes itself
In the editor, the floss and skein list follows your chart, along with your floss stash.
