Which floss for this color ?
Open a photo and tap the color you want, or pick it from the palette: the closest threads appear for each brand.
- The photo stays on your device
- DMC, Anchor, Madeira and Sullivans
- ΔE2000 color difference

How the threads are chosen
The color you tap (an average of a few pixels around your finger) is compared with every thread in the four color charts using the ΔE2000 color difference, which follows the eye’s perception better than a simple difference of values. The closest threads come first.
A photo often misleads: warm light, shadows, white balance. Tap a well-lit area, and always check with a real skein.
To go further than this tool: the free cross stitch software stixiva draws, converts and prints your charts, online or on Windows, and its Stitch mode tracks your stitches as you work.
Is my photo uploaded?
No: it’s read by your browser and never leaves your device.
Why does the suggested thread look different?
On-screen colors in color charts are approximate and a photo changes shades. Look at the next threads in the list too.
What about a whole photo?
The “Photo to pattern” tool suggests the whole thread palette of a photo, and the studio turns it into a full chart.
Your whole photo in floss
The studio turns the whole photo into a chart with your floss numbers, from 2 to 64 colors.
