In four steps
How to stitch with your chart online
From opening the chart to the last checked stitch.
Open your chart
A chart drawn in the studio, a converted photo, or a pattern you already own: PCStitch, OXS, or a photo, scan or PDF of a symbol chart, read square by square.
Switch to Stitch mode
The chart fills the screen, with its symbols and thread list. Choose the thread you’re stitching: its stitches stand out across the whole chart.
Check off your stitches
Tap a square or drag your finger, or the mouse, over an area. Progress for the color and the whole project updates automatically.
Pick up where you left off
Close it, come back tomorrow on another device: your checked stitches are waiting.

What changes when you stitch from a screen
Designed for a finger on a tablet as much as a mouse on a PC.
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Highlight a thread | The chosen thread’s stitches stand out, the others fade. “Mark this color only” stops you checking the neighbor by mistake. |
| Check off by dragging | One gesture checks a whole row. A mistake? The Undo button takes you back. |
| Find a symbol | Type a symbol, a number or a thread name to find it in the key. |
| Progress by color | Stitches done and left for each thread, and the project’s percentage. |
| 10 × 10 area and parking | Stitch square by square, and keep your threads “parked” when you stitch several colors at once. |
| Screen always on | On a tablet or phone, the screen doesn’t go to sleep while you stitch. |
| Dark theme and sound | A dark chart for the evening, and a little sound with each checked stitch, two notes when a color is finished. |
| Offline | Once the project is open, Stitch mode also works without a connection on the device. |
Why stitch with your chart on screen
On a paper chart, you highlight finished stitches, lose your row, count again. On screen, the chart zooms in, the current thread stands out, and every checked stitch is counted for you. On a big project, you always know how many stitches are left, color by color.
The PC is comfortable for preparing and checking; the tablet or phone sits next to the hoop for stitching. The same project opens on both.
First, the chart
No chart yet? Draw it stitch by stitch, start from a photo or a name. It all happens in the same cross stitch software, online and free during the beta.
Can you cross stitch online?
The stitching stays by hand, on your fabric. What happens online is the chart: making it, showing it on screen while you stitch and checking off finished stitches, on a computer, tablet or phone.
Do I need to install an app?
No: Stitch mode opens in the browser. There is also a Windows app for those who prefer installed software.
Is my progress saved?
Yes: your checked stitches are saved, and a project stored in your online space follows you from one device to another.
Can I track a pattern I bought or printed?
Yes, if you open it in the studio: a PCStitch, OXS or .wxs file, or a photo, scan or PDF of a symbol chart, which the assistant reads square by square into an editable chart.
Is it free?
Yes: the whole studio, Stitch mode included, is free during the beta, with a free account, no credit card.
What if I want to order an embroidered garment?
stixiva doesn’t embroider fabric for you: it’s software to create and track your hand embroidery charts.
